Was this in the works all along or has Disney realized we’re p.o.’ed? Apparently they plan on keeping Dave Filoni to work on this planned new series. Check out the link here.
Whatever the case may be, it’s a teeny tiny little sign that maybe just maybe there’s an in here to make sure Clone Wars isn’t just trashed and forgotten. Rebel Force Radio is still encouraging fans to write into Disney and Lucasfilm if they haven’t already. Get kids to write in too if you know any who watch the show! This open letter on Star Wars Underworld has the right idea.
On a side note, I noticed today that the creator behind long-cancelled cult hit “Veronica Mars” is hosting a Kickstarter project with former star Kristen Bell. If they raise $2 million, they will make a “Veronica Mars” film. When I checked this afternoon, they were already up to almost $1.5 million. Hmm…

Thanks for the shout out! I appreciate it!

Well that explains why he was so cowboy-happy on his recent “Future of The Clone Wars” video! Way to go, Dave! I hope this holds true. C’mon Disney/Lucasfilm, announce some good news for a change! If Dave is truly in a key position of power for this new series , then we can be assured that George’s vision will be respected (at least on the animation front). 😀

This is great news. Who better to tackle a brand new animated SW project, than the man that Lucas taught!
Good times! 🙂

This is some consolation. On one hand, it’s respectful to The Clone Wars and to Filoni himself to keep him around after all he’s done for Star Wars–and you know he’s done a lot. On the other, it also makes sense to keep him around, because at this point he’s spent so much time discussing Star Wars with George Lucas and has become so intimate with that universe; his Star Wars expertise is second only to George himself by now. To me, he’s a bigger authority on Star Wars than, say, Lawrence Kasdan is. And if we’re entering an era in which official Star Wars stories no longer come from George Lucas, then really he’s the only guy whose input I’m ready to accept as canon, at least at this point in time.

WELL WHY DIDN’T THEY TELL US EARLIAR

This is good news. But, it still dosen’t make up for the Clone Wars cancelation. They have a long way to go before that. This could be a baby step in the right direction.

Optimism is pretty hard when their taking everything away. With lose ends to boot.

Next the movies let’s see if they respect the prequels

Well, Disney now confirms it’s “working closely” with Dave to “explore new Star Wars content for our platforms.” Now, keep in mind, this doesn’t confirm anything. Publicists phrase statements like this so it seems like good news when it might not be. “Working closely” doesn’t mean “we’ve hired him” and “explore new content” doesn’t mean “he will be a part of our new show.” “Working closely” could just as easily mean, “He’s helping train in the new guys we’re bringing in.” Contrast their statement to the announcement of hiring J.J. “Yes, J.J. Abrams will direct Star Wars: Episode VII.” Simple. Definitive. When Disney makes a statement like that about Dave, then I’ll get excited.

Which is why I think they realized the natives are restless and had to say something. Fans have to push to keep them honest.

The worst that could happen is that the prequels fall into public domain which sets it down a path of ruination because of you know
