Update On Fan Appreciation Video

December 29, 2015

I mentioned back in November Susan Bowes’s plans for a fan appreciation video for George Lucas and his work on the prequel trilogy. She has moved the deadline to mid-January, so there is still time to get a video clip to her. Her e-mail address is susanbowes@optonline.com.

The Prequels Strike Back Doc Reaches Funding Goal

June 2, 2015

Ministry of Cinema’s fundraising efforts for its planned documentary, “The Prequels Strike Back” surpassed its $7500 goal to make it a full-length feature. The film’s director posted about his plans at Clone Corridor.

On the film’s Indiegogo page, Weatherholt and co. have posted who they plan on interviewing for the movie, and that list includes not only awesome people like Dr. Camille Paglia, Dr. Anne Lancanshire, and Steven Galipeau who wrote a pretty decent book about Jung and Star Wars pre-TPM, but also friends of SWPAS like Paul McDonald and Bob Clark. (It will also feature Chris Gore, presumably to play the devil in the film.)

There’s still 31 days to go on this fundraiser in case you feel like chipping in a couple of bucks.

Somebody’s Making A PT Documentary

May 6, 2015

Something called the Ministry of Cinema is putting together a fundraiser to make a documentary called “The Prequels Strike Back.” It promises to include Mike Klimo and his Ring Theory as part of the flick.

The goal is $3500 and so far about $450 is in the pot. I don’t know much about the project, so trust your own judgment.

Fan Documentary “Don’t Feed The Trolls”

June 23, 2014

Liz Welch, who helped make the fan documentary “Don’t Feed The Trolls,” dropped a line about her project, which is showing at various cons throughout the country:

My name’s Liz Welch and my team and I have just finished work on a documentary about fandoms. The film’s called Don’t Feed the Trolls and it shows the real world world of fandom communities.

The film addresses what trolls are and promotes the anti-bullying sentiment in fandoms.

There’s an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for exhibiting the film. The film’s Facebook page is here.

TPM Fan Movie

May 20, 2013

Not that long ago in our own galaxy, a guy named Joey Lemberg recreated TPM with action figures and home-made sets. Originally shot on VHS, it’s been uploaded on YouTube for all to enjoy. H/T Matthew Krizanits:

Episweded I: The Sweded Menace

February 4, 2012

Just as a quick explanation, “Sweded” refers to the movie “Be Kind Rewind,” where a video store staff has to replace its demagnetized video tapes by re-shooting every film with whatever’s on hand. Jack Black’s character claims that’s how they make movies in Sweden. This has led to boatloads of “Sweded” parodies and fan films.

Now it’s TPM’s turn:
