New Darth Vader Comic Coming

Why would we care?  Because it takes place right after ROTS.  So that’s basically the tail end of the prequel era and it covers such important events as Darth Vader making his first ever Sith saber.

Written by Charles Soule and with art by Giuseppe Camuncoli, the first issue debuts in June.

Okay, why are they doing this? Why couldn’t we get a Kanan or Hera series? It just seems to me that the story group is obsessing over details rather than expanding the Star Wars universe. Vader made his Sith lightsaber himself! Move on, Please!

Glad to hear its being written by Charles Soule, who wrote Obi-wan & Anakin, a comic I’ve heard nothing but good thinks about. He managed to tell a fun story that gave up new insights into the titular characters, while remaining faithful to their original film characterisations. Apparently he’s a bona-fide PT fan as well:)

Eh, there’s already a whole bunch of comics and books that detailed this part of Anakin’s life. I’d be much more interested if they made Obi-Wan and Anakin a full-fledged series.

and screen rant has an article about it calling it darth vader’s true origin we already had a vader origin story they were called the phantom menace attack of the clones and revenge of the sith there was also the novel dark lord the rise of darth vader which of course became non canon after the deal with disney though i heard the novel tarkin which part of the eu mentioned the events from that story so maybe it’s still canon i don’t know now i haven’t read the new comics but it could be interesting as long as they adknowledge the prequels
