E.K. Johnson’s “Ahsoka” has scored its third week at the top of the New York Times’ YA hardcover list. Of all of the new canon books, I think this the only one that has reached the top of any NYT list much less one that has had a 3-week staying power at the top.
Time and again cold hard facts have proven fans still love The Clone Wars and if this doesn’t make Disney sit up and take notice, nothing will. The book is also heavy on prequel-era references and the suits should take notice of that too.
I’ve got about 80 pages to go and as soon as I’m done I will post a review.

Unfortunately too many people use the Clone Wars television show as an excuse to hate on the prequel films (same thing with the Revenge of the Sith novelisation). Star Wars content isn’t on a bell curve people. Why can’t everyone just like what they like without having to bring anything else down?

I think the corrections take time. We’ve seen a lot more prequel era stuff this year, the movie comics rereleased. the cool Obi Wan stuff on Tattioine in comics, the Yoda comic that’s upcoming. the ahsoka book. rex in rebels, and the awesome rebels throwback episode.
plus disney had their prequel tsum tsums (which i didn’t buy but if that’s your thing)
the new Star Wars Destiny card game that takes stuff from all canon
hopefully it shows a acknowledgement that for a whole generation the prequels were their star wars experience. the star wars they camped out for, the star wars they saw in theaters. the star wars they saw on cups at taco bell, and on the pegs at wal mart.
some people get it. some are stuck in old notions. i hope disney sees the popularity and keeps feeding us

Great point, Phen! I noticed a lot of gamers got really irate with EA for leaving out prequel content in Battlefront, and those sites aren’t typically pro-prequel havens.
The fact is that whether people want to outwardly admit it or not, the prequels ARE Star Wars. And for an entire generation, whether or not they admit to being fond of the films themselves, they associate characters like Darth Maul, Queen Amidala, Mace Windu, General Grievous, the Clone Troopers and even originally OT characters like young Obi-Wan and Yoda as being quintessential to the saga and their experience of it. And of course, the planets too: Naboo, Coruscant, Kamino… the list goes on and on.
I think Disney is wising up slowly but surely. They thought the fans just wanted the OT brought back (and to be fair, LFL did neglect the OT during and after the release of Eps. I-III. I mean a Han Solo and Chewbacca comic book series always seemed like such a no-brainer, but for some reason, Dark Horse never attempted it). Now they’re seeing that their fandom is more diverse than just a bunch of angry, loud prequel haters.
Heck, I bet even some of the worst of them occasionally played a SW video game set in the prequel era or enjoyed one of the novels. They didn’t miss it until it was gone!

I enjoyed the book, especially all the prequel references. Hopefully, we get more prequel era fiction overall, not just YA and comics.
