Amidala-Inspired Desk

Disney put on a “Disney Lifestyle” exhibit at Somerset House in London, featuring clothing, shoes, and other things, many of which were made for the event.

One item was this desk designed by the late architect Zaha Hadid, who passed away just a month ago.  It was inspired by Queen Amidala’s famous headdress from TPM:

Here’s an Instagram photo of a description along with design art from the same exhibit.  I don’t know how much this baby costs but only 12 were made.

H/T Douglas Whipdale for the tweet and the photo re the desk.

    Wow!

    Very nice.

It’s a shame that I don’t have the space for it.

    That is fantastic!

While the desk looks interesting, I was sort of thinking of impressions Amidala had sat behind an actual desk in her throne room, and that that piece of furniture would be just as impressive to me… It was practically a distraction from seeing this wasn’t just somebody’s independent “inspired by” project, but something under the official aegis of Disney, something that just might stand pointing out with some of the current moods around here.
