“Obi-Wan & Anakin” Awesome Sales

Cédric passed along this link featuring the top-selling comics of January 2016.  “Obi-Wan & Anakin” was the 7th best selling comic for the month with an estimated 102,861 copies. The last two issues of the so-called Vader Down crossover were the only Star Wars comics that sold better last month.

That’s very good news. Let’s hope the sales stay at or near that level. It’s a great series so far so I hope the quality doesn’t drop either. I feel like the main Star Wars series has been lagging a bit since the end of the first story arc. Vader Down was nothing special, unfortunately. .

Great! Maybe it will be extended to an ongoing series like Kanan was!

Great news! I’m waiting for the TPB (June?), but looking forward to reading it.

Wow! Wasn’t expecting it to sell this well at all.

Read the first issue and was impressed with just how well it “got” Anakin’s characterization and his eventual fall. It weaved in a lot of stuff thst showed a true understanding of the prequels. The premise with two Jedi stranded on a mysterious and barbaric world that the Republic wants no part of works in favor of the comic’s original story, while touching on the prequels’ point about how distant and uncompassionate the Jedi Order had become.

Bought issue #2 but haven’t had a chance to read it yet. Looking forward to catching up and seeing the rest of this series through!
