Q&A Addresses Force Priestesses

starwars.com posted a video from the Clone Wars Lost Missions Q&A with Dave Filoni. This one interestingly enough addresses Force ghosts and Force priestesses.

This is exactly the kind of higher-level thinking I fear is gone from SW now. A single consciousness split into five different beings because of her transcendental relationship with the Force? Why do I find it hard to believe we’re going to see any of that alongside rolly-polly droids and OT hardware attempting a mid-life crisis comeback?

If that’s the case, then why are they releasing those videos? It makes no sense for Lucasfilm to be promoting the ideas of a show that was cancelled over a year ago only to have it be gone by 2015.

I don’t think that this kind of pessimism is really helping fandom right now. In fact, I think it’s part of the cancer.

Probably they simply want to make good with the TCW fans who they hope will take to Rebels. Viewers haven’t taken to the new show quite as easily as the higher-ups hoped.

Right now, until we get a real idea of what GL’s relationship is to the ST production, it’s safe to assume that the series is now a purely corporate entity. I’d really like to see his name squarely in the credits as something more than just a “Based On…” listing. In either case, though, that corporate spirit is the cancer.

I never noticed this until recently but there isn’t a lot of “Rebels” merchandise. Not at the Disney Store or any retail stores. That’s a bad sign.
