Matt Lanter’s turn on Clone Wars might be over (hopefully not forever!) but that doesn’t stop him from talking Star Wars with The Comlink in this video interview:

Cool. He sound genuine and I like his description of how the Clone Wars cast all worked together, being in the same room doing the voices – bouncing off each other. Has to be a more natural feel in doing the voices.

Plus both of these guys are right with us, it seems. They respect both the prequels and The Clone Wars – the entire story. Really appreciate Matt acknowledging the importance of the loss of Shmi and how that loss triggers Anakin being primed for action at the prospect of losing someone again – Padmé. It’s all there, like we’ve always said but it’s somehow a bit comforting to know they’re out there – people directly connected to the production of Star Wars as it stood before JJ do acknowledge that Anakin is important to the story – all of what we value is, too. “Special feel of the 70’s” and kowtowing to JJ towards the end of the clip is rubbing both ends of the dog’s tail. He really didn’t know Skywalker Ranch wouldn’t be a Star Wars amusement park?

  3. Star Wars 7 News Says:

I don’t know how else to contact you so I’ll leave this here. What are your thoughts on the upcoming trilogy? We just had the Episode 7 title announced. Any comments?

  4. Stefan Kraft Says:

LP, I do not know whether you have already seen this, but it is an article on i09 where the author explains that he likes TPM. While he is obviously (?) negative regarding some aspects of the movie, he still talks about what he likes and even does not bash GL (or at least only in one or two sentences)

Even more surprising is IMHO that he is not that enthusiastic about EP 7 at the end of the article and asks whether EP 7 will really explore interesting ideas about the force, like hinted at in TPM. And he even mentions an idea about Jar Jar that Paul F. McDonald brought up!

    • lazypadawan Says:

Sorry, Stefan, but this was the usual nonsense from i09. I don’t take a few pieces of gold in exchange for a metric ton of crap. For all of his “positive” points, he really does spend most of the time beating up on TPM and on the rest of the prequel trilogy. I don’t sell that to my readers.

    • M. Marshall Says:

While he makes some good points, and even HE has doubts about Abrams’ and Disney’s direction with the saga, he needs to give “Attack of the Clones” another chance…(honestly, how can anyone hate that movie?)

      • M. Marshall Says:

Also compare the comments of the article with comments of a far more pro-prequel article from observationdeck. io9 and you’ll see a far more cordial atmosphere in the latter.

    • Stefan Kraft Says:

Hmmm… Okay, while I consider the article to be more positive than you do, LP, I can see why you do not, and I definitely (!) understand why this article will not be “officially endorsed” by SWPAS.
