The Most Bizarre PT Rumors

A blog called Cinelinx posted an article chronicling some of the strangest (non-Supershadow) rumors surrounding the prequel trilogy. Remember Palpatine and Sidious were two different people? Or that everyone was a clone? Or Christopher Walken was going to be Darth Bane?

Better yet, there’s no PT bashing in the entire piece.

Dang, some of those rumors make the ones for Episode 7 look a bit timid in comparison. Although, the whole “Obi-Wan Granddaughter” thing is quite honestly stomach churning, this IS JJ Abrams after all.

  2. Eduardo Vargas Says:

I think this is good considering that we need some sanity check with some Episode 7 rumors. Although I have to say, I really hope that some of that concept art, stayed as concept art, because it doesn’t bring me any reassurance whatsoever.

Aside from possible spoilers, this is the other main reason I avoid rumors like a plague.

Ahh, of course I remember the love triangle one all too well. Though this article barely touched on some of the truly awful variations – the twins having two different fathers or both really being Obi-Wan’s, Anakin raping Padmé, etc. (Seriously? In movies where a kiss is the equivalent of a sex scene, we’re going to have rape and/or Padmé sleeping with multiple guys within days of each other?) I even remember talking to non-fandom friends about this one, and they were all going, “Seriously? Wasn’t it pretty much foregone that the female lead in the PT was going to end up with Anakin?” The very notion of a love triangle/ongoing ship debate in the PT was just baffling to them.

Somehow I missed the Maul = Grievous one. Then again, TheForce.Net had become such a cesspool of bashing by the time ROTS was rolling around that I didn’t go out of my way to look for stuff.

I’ve managed to avoid pretty much any rumors regarding Episode VII. I’m tempted just to dive off the board on that one and glut out; it’s not like I’m particularly invested in this movie anyway.

If there was any doubt at all about Obi-Wan’s role in the whole thing, it should’ve been obvious that he was very devoted to the Jedi Code and wasn’t at all the kind of guy to break the rules to screw around with his padawan’s girl. And Padme’s not the kind to cheat.

“Here’s how the scene was described to me. The setting- Kashyyyk,. Yoda and Chewbacca are together when the Clone troopers are ordered to kill the Jedi. What does Yoda do? He grabs some mud, smears it on his face, jumps on Chewbacca’s back, acts all stupid like his first appearance in Empire Strikes Back, and pretends to be Chewie’s pet.

To further the deception, he farts. Yes, you read that right: Yoda farts. ”

    OMG, this is absolutely hilarious.
I wonder how many haters still think that scene is in the film 😀

There were some elements that were sort of right…Yoda was with the Wookiees when Order 66 went down and Chewbacca helps him escape, but throwing mud, acting stupid, and the flatulence were all completely wrong.

Wow… I jave never heard of most of these… and I am left speechless…
