Clone Wars DVD/Blu-Ray Announcement In 3 Weeks?

Jedi News linked to a rundown of news on The Digital Bits that included a rumor about Disney announcing in three weeks (or maybe within the next three weeks) a release date for the Clone Wars “Lost Missions” episodes on DVD and Blu-Ray, which will be “before the end of the year.” Make of it what ye will.

So, there is a possible rumor of an announcement that there will soon be an announcement of the Blu-ray release?

    I’ll take it!

In addition to the Lost Missions, I bet they announce a full series box set with… drum roll… all the episodes in chronological order. Hey, they need to do something to get people who already bought the previous seasons to buy them again!

Yeah, well I disagree with their official chronology for the sixth season…

      • Hunk a Junk Says:

To be honest, I disagree with the need to put things in chronological order at all. Star Wars has always been told out of order, starting with Episode IV. I liked watching CW and thinking, “Hey, this episode must come before the battle of Ryloth. Cool.” Its a Lucas tradition I wish Disney continues (but they probably won’t because the people in charge now lack a willingness to take risks. Gotta please the shareholders, dontcha know).

      • Tarrlok Says:

The chronologically scattered approach of TCW sometimes got weird (I still can’t remember the order in which Cad Bane did his various misdeeds on Coruscant) but it could be genuinely beneficial.

Consider the story of Domino Squad and the clones manning the listening station. The episode wherein all of the clones bar two were killed off came first, so we knew who would die and how when the show jumped back to the training of these clones. However, the fleshing out of these clones helped turn the episode of their deaths into a tragedy. It was mutually beneficial for both episodes.

So, like you said, it’s a bit like the PT with respect to ANH. Or even TCW with respect to ROTS. We know how it ends, but sometimes what happened before is significant enough to delve into.
