Undeniable Fact About AOTC #9: Target Had The Most Complete Score To Date

Sony Classical released the AOTC soundtrack on April 23, 2002. The original release contained all of the main tracks but only the CDs Target stocked (with four different covers…I picked the Anakin/Padmé one, heh heh) contained the track “On The Conveyor Belt.” There has been no release of all of the music/cues from the film.

By the way, the soundtrack version of “Zam The Assassin and the Chase Through Coruscant” has an electric guitar in it, one of those things I noticed while listening to it with headphones. It’s the only Star Wars track to date with an electric guitar, though you can’t hear it in the actual film.

I too noticed the electric guitar

I’m still fuming at the lack of completeness when building my “Best of Star Wars” playlist on my phone.

In fact, none of the prequels got the same treatment that IV-VI did in their re-released soundtracks. The closest we got was a two-disc Phantom, but on that one like every five second cue was a different track so you barely had any full suites.

Agreed. I too own TPM’s full soundtrack and I love it so much that it’s regrettable they STILL haven’t released two-disc soundtracks for episodes 2 and 3.

This tortures me to this day…. 😛

With all of these new soundtracks for new movies coming in the near future and Disney’s/Lucasfilm’s soft shut-out of PT era stuff it seems like it will be a while before we get the complete PT scores. Hope I’m wrong. There’s a Clone Wars OST coming after all, right?
