Save Mos Espa Progress

The Save Mos Espa campaign has successfully moved a big dune threatening to bury the set back 500 meters, keeping the site unburied for the next several years.

    So cool that these groups – and it is international since Mark Dermul from Belgium spearheaded the restoration of the Homestead and now this latest effort’s report of progress is in French (or perhaps that just reflects the culture of Tunisia?) – manage to fund-raise and take time out of their own lives to fight Mother Nature. I know there were requests made to Lucasfilm for assistance but they declined Mark’s efforts were totally funded by fans.

      I think the effort at Mos Espa is largely Tunisian and French is an official language there.
