The Coruscant Tapestry

A gallery in Los Angeles called Gallery1988 has a sweet hand-sewn 30-foot tapestry depicting scenes from all six existing films, from TPM to ROTJ. Yours for only 20 grand!

Here are some additional photos on the gallery’s Tumblr page.

Saw that earlier and thought how interesting it would be if that tapestry would be one of the only things that survived from this time period and archaeologists (or aliens, or perhaps alien archaeologists) thousands of years from now dug it up and saw the Aurebesh writing and surmised that this was our culture’s core mythology or some sort of history of a long lost people. Being a lover of history, that tapestry hits all the right buttons and makes me proud to be a Star Wars fan.

I took several art history classes in college, so this hit a soft spot for me too. It also helped that it celebrated Star Wars as a whole, which is how it should be perceived.

Dang, I wish I had $20,000 to burn!

Why are the cool things outside of the price range of those who would care enough to want one?
