Throwback Thursday: Ray Park In “Mortal Kombat Annihilation”

Before Ray Park became Darth Maul in TPM, his first big movie gig was as Rayden’s (Raiden?) fight double in “Mortal Kombat Annihilation,” the 1997 film based on the video game. I’m pretty sure this is Ray in action during this scene. A lot of the moves look familiar:

He’s so awesome.

I either forgot or didn’t know Ray Park was in this.

Both Mortal Kombat films and the TV series (based on the films) are really underrated.

Asian-inspired high fantasy at a time (1990s) when Hollywood wasn’t doing anything fantasy related. I don’t think there had ever been anything quite like it before.

James Remar replaced Christopher Lambert as Raiden in this one. Lambert was great, unfortunately Remar was probably miscast.

It would have been neat to see Ray play a masked character like Sub-Zero or Scorpion , who were awesome in the first film.

    Thanks for posting this.
