Darth Vader Article In Star Wars Insider

The latest issue of the Star Wars Insider features a long discussion with several expanded universe authors on Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker. It was actually pretty interesting to read though a few of them take the “Force Forgives, I Don’t” tack.

Sharp-eyed fans noticed there’s a still of Anakin and Padmé that hasn’t been published before along with the article!

Never before seen photo? That’s wizard; It should be a regular feature for Star Wars Insider! I’m sure they have enough unused material, and if they ever run out, well they won’t ever run out seeing as there will be a new Star Wars film every year until world’s end. Promo stills and behind the scenes pics are always the best.

Funny. I just did an article about the Knightfall Younglings and the ethical conundrum it raises for Anakin’s redemption.

TL;DR: While I wouldn’t blame anyone for whom this was a crossed line that can never be uncrossed, I still root for Anakin to be redeemed because 1. Vader = temporary insanity, and 2. This is fiction.

I cancelled my subscription over a year ago. I could see where things were heading – I refuse to support a Star Wars magazine that resorts to this crap. and me, too Adam. The redemption of Anakin. She believes, so why wouldn’t we all?

I didn’t renew my subscription to the Insider. After being a subscriber since 1995, I’m all done with it. Two years of nothing but OT B.S! All done!

The July 2013 issue had Padme on the cover and an article about her by Tricia Barr, a gallery of her best handmaidens, a look back on the five seasons of The Clone Wars, an interview with Temuera Morrison and something about the magazines lack of prequel coverage. I copied the quote onto my tumblr.
