Cute Kids’ Shirt

Snappykid has a cute if not slightly morbid t-shirt available in onesies up through a kids’ large, depicting all of the major lightsabers in the saga along with a count of er, limbs lost. Looks like Obi-Wan wins that contest!

It’s too bad it’s not available for grownups!

Obi-Wan “The Negotiator” Kenobi….Pfft. Looking at his limb count, it appears he took “aggressive negotiations” more to heart than Anakin ever did…

Star Wars films are known for technological advances. This development reeks of turning their backs on what made Star Wars special.

Why turn away from digital filmmaking, especially with the current Red Epic cameras, which are light years ahead of the Sony cameras used in the prequels?

It does seem backwards, and I’m sure this will only give ammo to the hate machine trying to exclude the prequels. Behind-the-scenes-wise, it’s sad to see Star Wars not pushing the envelope as it were. Red Epic (or better…) would have been nice to see. It’s nice to have bragging rights and record-breaking statistics to back up your favorite film franchise. 🙂

However, in-universe-wise, it means almost nothing. A great Star Wars film can be made using anything, as long as the right creative minds and talent are involved. Until Episode VII blazes onto the big screen, (or at least until a trailer is shown), the films could become many different things. Time will tell.

Is that first one Obi’s Phantom saber? If so, then it really should be Qui-Gon’s, since that’s what Obi used to bisect Maul…

    • Bob Clark Says:

I think they’re counting Zam Wessel’s hand being cut off in AOTC. And yeah, Qui-Gon’s saber should count for something.

      • Keith Palmer Says:

After a bit of “Obi-Wan didn’t cut off any *limbs* in TPM, did he?” I managed to think of Zam’s hand, which did leave me wondering if I’d somehow let AotC “slip out of memory.” I can suppose “bisection” doesn’t quite count, but even as I think that I’m still pondering certain fine details to do with the lightsabre both the Skywalkers wielded…
