Prequel Appreciation Day ’11 Wrap-Up

Thanks to everyone who participated and helped spread the word. It’s a small thing and this year really just snuck up on me but I hope for something bigger next year. I did get an idea for another project but we’ll see if it pans out ;).

Anyway, here’s what I posted on the Prequel Appreciation Day Facebook:

Now that the big day is here (Happy 12th Birthday to TPM and 6th Birthday to ROTS), I thought I’d post here a few notes on why I decided to do all of this…I wanted to help validate the prequel era as part of the Star Wars experience. In the early ’90s I put out a fanzine to help other Star Wars fans come out of the closet and promote what I’d always believed, that even almost two decades later, Star Wars still mattered. You can imagine how I felt with the success of the Special Editions in 1997! Now, I’m continuing to repay the saga in kind for all it has done for me by pitching in where it needs help. I would love to see the prequels get their due in my lifetime. We’re just a small band of Rebels right now but with more support than we think. We just need to make our case.

If you go to the above link, you can read all of the fun posts.

I raise my glass to you lazypadawan! Salute! Without you none of this would have happened. You are our commander and chief and I’m your general ready to help when and wherever I can. Thank you! And, May the Force be with you, always!

I still think some “Prequel Appreciation Society” would be REALLY nice! Maybe if we post on facebook some body might be able to hep us out?
