Last Tour To Endor Show Mocks Hayden

August 20, 2010

I’d missed the “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Jedi” show during the Last Tour To Endor party last Saturday night at Disney Hollywood Studios. The show was packed to the rafters, with standing room only several people deep. Since it was insanely hot, I’m somewhat claustrophobic, and at 5’4″, I wasn’t going to see very much anyway, my friends and I decided not to bother.

It’s just as well because a friend, ladyaeryn, who did go to the show posted this on her LiveJournal:

And I went “Dude, NOT cool” when one of the directors, directing an extra in how to overact his death scene, told him to “really Hayden it up.”

This is inexcusable. What were Disney people thinking? A severed Jar Jar head mentioned in ladyaeryn’s post was bad enough but mocking one of the actors is a line that shouldn’t have been crossed. Would they have used the Mark-Hamill-The-Has-Been meme as a joke? Would they have made fun of Carrie Fisher’s drug problems or her bipolar disorder? Why is Hayden an acceptable punching bag? It’s a good thing I wasn’t at that show because I would have at the very least walked out or caused a big ruckus. To think that they did this in front of several Star Wars luminaries present is appalling.

Brief Recap of Prequels Panel

August 17, 2010

Bryan wrote a short recap of the prequels panel at Celebration V at his site Big Shiny Robot and posted some pictures.

Meesa back!

August 17, 2010

I came home yesterday from Celebration V…despite my misgivings, I had a great time. The prequels panel on Friday was excellent, easily one of the con’s highlights for a number of reasons. Great job, Bryan! I also sat in on the Clone Wars Season Three preview on Saturday. I can’t believe we have less than a month to go before we see this cool stuff!

Celebration reports are forthcoming!

Clone Wars Season Three Premieres September 17

August 10, 2010

Looks like we don’t have much longer to wait for fresh Clone Wars action! The season premiere kicks off on September 17 on Cartoon Network!

If you’ve got young fans in your house, you can enter a sweepstakes for a Clone Wars house party! Sounds like fun.

Star Blog Redesign

August 9, 2010

The Official Star blog had a redesign. The only prequel elements in the redesign (there are two flash pages, one with good guys, one with bad guys) are waaaay on the end, there appears to be a couple of pit droids. Maybe.

They can’t use TESB’s 30th as an excuse because not everything in the new design is from that film. Once again, half the saga is relegated to amnesia status. You bet I’m gonna say somethin’ on Friday…

(While you’re there, check out the guy’s Clone Wars tattoos. They’re cool but this fella went through all of that pain and paid good money for those tats but has never seen the show. Hmm…)

More On “Why We Love The Prequels” Panel

August 3, 2010

This was posted today on

Despite being worldwide smash hit blockbusters, it sometimes seems Episodes I through III have a hard time getting the respect they deserve. This panel is dedicated to giving the prequels their due, with a few surprises guest stars you won’t want to miss. Special guests Kyle Newman (Fanboys), James Arnold Taylor (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), artist Tom Hodges, and Jesse Hildreth from Lucasfilm Animation in Singapore, join moderator Bryan Young. 6-7 pm, Fan Stage

Wow, I’m impressed they managed to get these guys to participate. Should be interesting…and I wonder who the surprise guest stars are going to be?
