New Art From Acme Archives

Acme Archives Direct has several new Star Wars pieces available. Most of them debuted this weekend at Comic Con. This batch includes a great Qui-Gon portrait by John Alvin, a Boba and Jango Fett portrait by Tsuneo Sanda, and “Amidala” by Jerry Vanderstelt, which I bought at Comic Con on Thursday.

The only problem with Acme Archives is that the art is $$$. Canvas prints run over $300 generally, while the cheaper paper prints are still north of $100. Still, they are stunning pieces.

I LOVE the Qui-Gon portrait!!!!!! Hopefully I can find it cheaper down the road!

LOVE the one on Qui Gon – but “Amidala” seems a misnomer for Padmé at her wedding. Plus looks like the expression she has in that classic photo in the picnic gown – For the wedding scene she was anything but provocative which is exactly what the moment called for – not provocative because she knew they just might be heading for disaster…the hesitation, the look of just a little bit of fear.

My fave wedding art is Jason Palmer’s.

Is this the Jason Palmer one?

I LOVE these portraits of Padme! Beautiful!!!!!

Jason Palmer’s wedding art is a little different from that one. I bought a copy from him in 2005.

All of those portraits are part of Palmer’s exclusive for Celebration IV. You could also buy a b&w sketchbook. Naturally, I have both ;).
