CW Rumors and interviews

December 30, 2008

Wookieepedia has a listing of 25 (not the previously promised 22) episodes for Season One, ending in April. Since it is after all a Wiki, treat it as a rumor not as confirmed fact. Even more incredibly, Wikipedia’s entry on the show had a listing of 45 episodes, which would include a huge chunk of Season Two but that seems to have been edited out of the entry.

TFN has posted an interview with Henry Gilroy and Dave Filoni. Read about how Lucas considers CW canon, the lighter side of Anakin, trying to save Plo Koon, Ahsoka’s future, etc..

The Amidala wallet/clutch

December 27, 2008

Diesel is selling a wallet/clutch (it’s hard to tell how big it is) named after everyone’s favorite Queen of Naboo. Given that there is no other origin for the name, somebody at Diesel must be a big SW fan, although I’d choose to make it in gold or a nice red ;).

Merry Christmas to all! Hope you all got a lot of great gifts (SW and non-SW) and got to eat a lot of great food. Here are some pictures of a Clone Wars-themed Christmas tree.

Actress Jaime King confirms she’s in CW and a SW fan

December 24, 2008

A while ago there was a report from a fan who had heard on a radio interview that actress Jaime King has signed on to join the cast of CW. Well, she confirms it for starwars.com. Her character will be introduced in Season Two but she doesn’t say who/what she’s playing. She also talks about her general love for all things SW.

You can catch Ms. King in the new film The Spirit with Samuel L. Jackson, which opens tomorrow, and in Fanboys, whenever it comes out.

Anakin’s story part of trading card set

December 17, 2008

My favorite SW trading card sets ever are the popular Star Wars Galaxy sets from the 1990s. Each set featured new artwork by a variety of comics artists and illustrators, many of them offering new perspectives on SW. A new SWG set has been loooong overdue. Since the last set came out around 1997, we’ve had three new movies, new t.v. shows, and of course loads of other material like games and books.

The fourth SWG set is due out in February and starwars.com has announced there will be a six-card subset by artist Russell Walks that will cover Anakin’s story arc through the ideas of mythologist Joseph Campbell. Yay for honoring Anakin and double yay for bringing the smarts back to SW!

Mauly the Snowman

December 16, 2008

This cute animation on starwars.com features a Maul-esque snowman. I think it’s a few years old like the Fetts one, but still PT-related!
