It’s always refreshing to read one of those Star Wars Rocks interviews on starwars.com where the celebrity doesn’t turn his nose up at the PT and accepts it as part of the saga. Read more on who he thinks would make a great judge on American Idol, which character he identifies with the most, and which SW star he’d love to see sing on Idol here.

Naturally, there will be a Clone Wars tie-in game for the Wii gaming system. I guess there will be lots of lightsaber action! Read more about it here.
Not all of them are new, but ENI has posted several new pictures from CW, including some we haven’t seen before.
Rebelscum has posted covers from upcoming Clone Wars-related books. Also, Amazon.com has on pre-order the Clone Wars 2009 calendar.
TFN has posted that Jimmy Smits will reprise his role as Bail Organa for The Force Unleashed game. Cool!
What a shocker ;).
What’s strange are the MPAA’s reasons. Aside from the expected sci-fi action/violence, there’s also “brief language” (swearing???), and “momentary smoking.” Uh oh, who’s been lighting up?
Posted on Rebelscum was confirmation from a recent visitor to Walt Disney World in Florida who found new figurines featuring Mickey as Anakin, Minnie as Amidala, Goofy as Jar Jar, Donald Duck as Darth Maul, and Stitch as Yoda. Some of these characters are also available as pins. So, if you’re heading to a Disney park anytime soon, keep an eye out…or just look for it on eBay.
Posted somewhere on TFN’s Jedi Council free-for-all, er, message board was a link to a short interview FoxNews.com’s Roger Friedman had with George Lucas at the Cannes Film Festival. Most of the chat was about Indiana Jones but Lucas revealed why Clone Wars is not with Fox…you’re going be shocked:
“No one wanted it,” he told me. “Every studio rejected it, including Fox, and I’m very loyal to them. They have right of first refusal. Eventually I brought it to Warners. It’s the first time that three components of the studio have acted together. It’s very exciting.
“But the story is that everyone said, ‘No one gets this. It’s just … ‘Star Wars.” I said, ‘That’s right, It’s just ‘Star Wars.’ Just like this is … ‘Indiana Jones.””

Jedi News posted part two of its interview with Dave Filoni. Here he talks about whose idea it was to give Anakin a padawan, his introduction to SW, his hat, and of course, about Plo Koon among other things.
It was my intent with this site not to dwell too much on bashers and prequel-haters, but every now and then, I have to respond to some of the crudola we’re up against.
Some hack on Mess-NBC wrote a piece on “Lackluster Blockbusters” and of course Target #1 was the PT. Not only that, he starts to think the OT sucked too. He blames Lucas for “ruining everything” with “lazy, cynical” writing and caring more about special effects than anything else.
Granted this moron also beat up on the Spider Man flicks, E.T., Titanic, and Home Alone among other hits, but it goes to show you the problem too many in fandom choose to either ignore or start parroting. I’ve been very critical of how Lucasfilm doesn’t seem to notice or care about how this constant drumbeat of “the PT sucks” hurts its interests. Three years after ROTS, the black hats are still at it. Our work is cut out for us.
