More than one CW movie?

April 28, 2008

TFN posted this item about Peter “Chewbacca” Mayhew’s appearance at the Générations Star Wars convention in France this weekend. Someone asked Mayhew if Chewbacca will be in Clone Wars, and out of that conversation, Mayhew revealed that there could be a total of three CW movies if the first one goes over well. April 19, 2008

Lightsaber training and PT lexicon in the popular culture

April 18, 2008

This story I saw posted on TFN is really about a lightsaber class for kids in Maryland but I thought it was cool how the guy running the class refers to his students as Padawans. It does make sense since these youngsters were likely introduced to SW through Eps I-III but it also goes to show you how even in small ways, the movies are making their effect felt on the culture as a whole.

Clone Wars Adventures nominated for Eisner Award

April 16, 2008

The Will Eisner Award is the Oscar or Grammy of the comics industry. This year, there’s a new kids’ category and one of the nominees is Dark Horse’s Clone Wars Adventures, a digest-sized paperback featuring all-new adventures with your favorite characters and some new ones, all done in the style of the 2003-2005 microseries.

Congrats to the editorial team and good luck! The Eisners will be handed out on July 25 at Comic Con.

TFN linked to this interesting post on Things Star Wars Taught Me. Example: “Good always triumphs over evil. Even when all seems lost in Star Wars good overcomes and wins the day.”
