Dare We Hope?

As I shared on the SWPAS Facebook page a few days ago, Jedi News posted a rumor from a Dutch fan who dug around and found out that AOTC and ROTS 3D were set for releases in December 2014.

We know that AOTC’s 3D conversion was done, and who knows how far along ROTS was before the plug was pulled? (As far as anyone knows, no real work has been done yet on ANH, TESB, or ROTJ.) Has Disney changed its mind? Or are people having delusions of grandeur? We’ll just have to see. Meanwhile, here’s some follow up from Jedi News, posted today.

If true, this would be great.

I was a little miffed when back in August I saw ‘Attack of the Clones/Revenge of the Sith 3D’ listed in my local theater’s “upcoming attractions” pamphlet. Apparently they had typed up the pamphlet without realizing the movies would not be released. It’s possible this will fall through as well.

December 2014 is a long way away, but it would be great if they were released. Although i just can’t see Disney releasing the two prequel films without also releasing the original trilogy soon after in 3D. It would be incredibly weird for them to re-release episode III, and then wait a year and skip to episode VII. Unless of course this is an extremely limited release (i.e Netherlands or Europe only), which would be very disheartening.

We were always supposed to get all of them so I hope thats what happens.

I hope they release AOTC and ROTS one at a time JUST to make it extra painful for all the little weasel hateboys who have to sit through all the enthusiasm from people who go and see it and love it like they always have.

It was great watching them panic and work extra overtime when TPM 3D came out.

I don’t think they ever changed their mind, it was apparently always ”postponed”.
