Great episode. Powerful. I pray it isn’t the end. I got a bad feeling. Disney=the dark side.

My daughter sobbed at the end. Sobbed. I had a tear too. The use of the fade out and the music during the credits, I’m certain, is an indication that this is the end. Filoni knows. It’s likely they wrote and produced the episode as a Season 5 cliffhanger, but I suspect as things changed last summer and into the fall regarding Disney’s new direction for the franchise they did what they could to make the episode a series finale. Disney will be content to let Ahsoka’s fate hang as a mystery and tease fans with “always in motion is the future” PR about maybe bringing her back or telling more of her story. They won’t. It’s onward to Episode VII and, for Disney, the end of the prequel era.

    Maybe that’s why I had a tear.

      Your pessimism is intriguing

Are you sure you’re not Captain Panaka ;) ?

I’m worried about many of the things you’ve described too. I don’t want Clone Wars cancelled out of office politics or out of some weird anti-prequel jihad. I don’t want Star Wars to eat itself alive by pitting one trilogy against another (the ST will be pretty worthless if all it serves to do is punch the PT in the gut at every turn).

But we got to take it one day at a time. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

Go read the “Ahsoka Stand Alone Film???” thread over on theforce.net forums. Read a couple pages of comments. You’ll understand my pessimism. The hateboys and older fans HATE Ahsoka alongside Ewoks and Jar Jar. She’s a “mistake” in their eyes and needs to just go away. And given how Disney is cancelling everything left and right it’s not hard to see the writing on the wall. The hateboys have successfully split SW fandom and they are NOT going to shut up until they get the “adult” films they want. And so far, Disney seems to be signalling they agree.

you do realize that I am merely being sarcastic here, and that I am not taking you seriously?

      • Hunk a Junk Says:

Not asking you to. I’m not the bad guy. I love the PT and TCW. I have always supported Lucas’ vision of SW. And if I’m wrong I’ll happily admit I was too cynical and pessimistic. But I’m not just saying it to be a troll or make anyone upset. I just think this is what we’re facing as fans. Hopefully I’m wrong. I really REALLY want to be wrong.
