Mary Oyaya, the Ugandan actress who played Luminara Unduli in AOTC, is helping Imaging The World raise a little dough through a really sweet offer. For a $50 donation, you get one of three Star Wars themed necklaces carved from organic African bamboo and an autographed photo from Ms. Oyaya.
Imaging The World brings ultrasound machines to places where access is limited to nonexistent, helping save lives. To donate, go here.

Thanks LP – Just ordered/donated. Another example of the generosity of George Lucas – (Lucas “approved”) who always gives his support and approval to so many charities. Wonderful that Mary has been involved and now reaches out to fans with her own time, effort, etc to try to generate more funds, more support for Imagining the World.

The Star Wars saga, to me, have always been pro-woman (feminist/womanist) films. How appropriate that Star Wars is being used to improve women’s lives.
