The Season Five premiere was today at Celebration VI and it was announced Clone Wars will move to Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. on Cartoon Network.
Yeah. 9:30. Saturdays.
My opinion on it is, “For the love of God, why??” I think the show is a little sophisticated for pajamas and cereal, even though they have in the past run the show on Friday and re-run it again on Saturday mornings for the Bedtime At 8 crowd. It’s no problem for me to be up by 9:30 but for many out there who sleep ’til noon on the weekends, it’s going on the DVR list. I don’t know how this is going to affect the show’s ratings for the better.
In any case, the premiere episode we all missed if we weren’t at Celebration will air on September 29. Lots of great feedback on Twitter about it!

this can hold us over until a nice HD version pops up:
And how strange to banish TCW to Saturday mornings, especially since it’s gotten darker and more nuanced as its run has continued…also, it feels like the “buzz” from fanboy/critic types has grown over the past couple of seasons, and bumping it out of primetime seems to work against that.

I know! It doesn’t make any sense to me at all.

Oh well. I’ll watch ‘em on Star Wars.com or the Cartoon Network’s site. They’ve got a primetime grade show and they’re sticking it on Saturday mornings. All I can muster is a big “Huh?”. Maybe the audience will migrate and give that time slot more attention so they can do more things there in coming years. And let’s face it – they can’t do many more seasons of this show. They become harder to sell in syndication after 7 seasons. So this is perhaps all part of a fading out of the show.
