At least we know it’s going to be a reality! From starwars.com:
Join Academy Award-winning visual effects supervisors Dennis Muren and John Knoll for a special Celebration look at what goes into creating the Star Wars 3D experience. Learn how the experts at Industrial Light & Magic — Lucasfilm’s ground-breaking visual effects house – are taking that experience to a whole new level for the upcoming releases.
Scheduled for Saturday in the Celebration Digital Theater (Valencia A), three separate sessions with Muren and Knoll will give attendees the opportunity to glimpse behind the scenes, and get an exclusive first look at Episode II: Attack of the Clones in 3D! The screenings are sponsored by RealD, and all who attend will receive an exclusive pair of Celebration VI 3D glasses to use at the show, and to take home after!*

YES YES hell YES!!! LP- are there multipe sessions??? As much as the fanboys dump on the prequels, they will be first in line to grab the 3-D glasses

Definitely, lin–first to grab the 3-D glasses, and first to pick up their phones and vomit all over the internet about how it’s “STILL horrible”.
Great news for the rest of us who don’t have social disorders, though!

Eddis, that actually raises a good point. Should haters even be allowed at Celebration? And if so, why? What the hell do they have to celebrate? Lucas has been ruining their lives for over a decade. They need a separate convention – Star Wars Whine. Great news, though, LP.

I’ve asked myself the same question, Paul. Even back at CIII, the only Celebration I’ve been to, I remember rolling my eyes at my wife multiple times as we heard haters droning on while we were trapped in line with them…I can’t imagine how much worse it is now, 7 years later. It’s actually surprising that there hasn’t been some sort of inverse Celebration– the W3: ‘Wars, Wail, and Whine.
“Hey man, did you hear that Gary Kurtz is guest of honor again at W3 IV??”
“Wow, I’m gonna print out my pdf of ‘The Secret History of Star Wars’ and have him sign it…again!”
Really, why hasn’t there been such an event?? Simon Pegg could collect a fee for appearing at both!

Eddie made me laugh really hard.
Sir, I think you have their number.
If I’m feeling fiesty and I run into any, I’m going to start talking about my book. Loudly.

Lin, there are going to be three sessions on Saturday.
My experience at Celebration has been that there are some drinkers of the haterade and obnoxious types around but they are the minority. The very worst ones never go to these things for some reason.

Haterade? If you just made that up, brilliant. I think we’re all gonna have a great time.

AOTC in 3D? I’m in!

So, are John Knoll and Dennis Muren going to be there, in person? Sod the 3D footage, I’d go just to be in the presence of those geniuses, if I could! Jealous about this; these Celebration events always pull in the big names. Forget about haters — they are surely a minority at events like these, and they’re clearly wasting their own time as much as anyone else’s.
