I’m trying to figure out how to juggle it with my work schedule at the last minute, but if I can do that, I’m going, and of course would DEFINITELY be interested in a meetup.
Definitely going to be there and would love a meet up. I’m arriving Wednesday, leaving Sunday relatively early. Also trying to arrange early purchase of artwork so won’t have to deal with the chaos that was there at CV. Hope there will be others joining in!
I’ve thought about this. We should get Eddie and A New Hope guy too. Of course, maybe we would simply be too tempting a target for the haters. One stick of dynamite and we’re all gone.
Thanks for thinking of me, Paul, and I would love to meet up with my fellow hate-targets, but sadly, I won’t be at CVI. I’ll absolutely be at CVII, though–and I’ve even kind of daydreamed about us all getting a “fan table” and rotating shifts throughout CVII under the banner of Prequel/Full Saga Appreciation. I’d be completely willing to devote time and resources to making that happen, we could do a ton of fun stuff with it…Paul, you could steer people towards your book, which will have been out by then–LP, we could steer people here…we’d be like the Pied Pipers of Prequeldom! Depending on what happens with the timing of the 3D releases, CVII will probably be smack in the middle of the OT in 3D, so our combined presence would serve to remind people that the Prequels still exist, since we can’t always rely on LFL to do that!
Ooooooo, Eddie, if something like that could be finagled for the next Celebration, I too would definitely be in! (though *please* let them choose somewhere else besides FL for the next one! Heck, I’d even take Indy – just *someplace* more central-ish and actually easily reach-able, for pity’s sake-!) Love, *so* much love for that idea!!
For sure, Dawn! I just wonder if they’ll ever move it away from anywhere considered such a “summer vacation destination”, and the Star Wars/Disney link is pretty strong.
LP, I checked out the SW Celebration website, and since the spots for any fan tables closed long ago, there’s no info on there about how to set that up…maybe some friendly fan table at CVI could fill you in? With our luck, they’d stick us next to OriginalTrilogy.com’s table! (as if they’d ever set foot anywhere that Saint Gary Kurtz wasn’t allowed to tread…)
Great idea, but I just love booking my conventions up to every hour. Do the same for Dragoncon. Though I’m sure someone could pencil me in for a couple of hours for something like this. Not looking forward to the weather either, but it’s only seven or eight hours from Atlanta, so I’m good.
Hey, Paul, you’re doing D*C as well? This’ll be my first DragonCon ever and I’m of course hugely excited….I’ve no idea quite what to expect and at this point it’s like I can only but imagine just how wall-to-wall overwhelming it’s likely to be….though hopefully only in the best positive way. I’m going for mainly cosplaying reasons, but apparently there’s jsut any number of panels, tracks and shindigs which may be well worth the checking-out….argh, even at four days of con, too many things and not enough hours, it already seems like.
But, yes, a PT, CW and entirety-of-the-Saga-lovers’ fan table like that, by my reckoning that’s still a perfectly brilliant notion and I too would do nigh-well *anything* to see that happen. Heck, the “Why We Love the Prequels” panel is by all counts quite the massive success when it happens, so realistically a group of us having a table along those very same lines, that particular bent, well….seems only fair, and of course there’s that real zest, passion and powerful demand for it which it’s past high time indeed they realized.
Yeah, ten year Dragoncon veteran. I do love it, though it is getting soooo big. A bit more organized last year to handle the crowds, fortunately. Very positive experience with it for the most part. May not make it this year due to Celebration. We’ll see.

Eddie, a combined fan table might be an interesting idea.
Dawn, I hear ya. Orlando in August? Yikes. I am NOT looking forward to the weather.
