Paul McDonald at Star Wars Heresies has re-posed an essay “Qui-Gon Jinn: Jedi Knight Of Infinite Faith”, which he wrote for Space.com back in 2000. Do check it out!

Paul McDonald sent a link to an article by Stephen Galipeau about TPM. I read this years ago so it’s either worth a re-read or it’s new to you. It’s from a Jungian perspective.
December and January bring a whole crop of books, mostly aimed at kids, that are tie-ins with TPM. They include a LEGO books, 3D storybook and a new kids’ book about Darth Maul by Ryder Windham (the one that came out in 2000 was a paperback by Jude Watson).
Meanwhile, Stride Rite is putting out more Star Wars shoes, including some Clone Wars shoes and Darth Maul sneaks.
Save The Lars Homestead has been a fan-run project to restore the igloo-style building that doubled as the Lars homestead on Tatooine in the Star Wars saga. (The underground/pit part of the Lars homestead, the Sidi Driss Hotel, is apparently doing just fine.) They are trying to raise $22,760 by July 15 through pledges and if you pledge at least $77, you get an awesome watch filled with real life honest to God sand from the Mos Espa set, scooped up when the group visited last year. The numbers on the watch are in Aurebesh.

This is a long one but worth reading beneath the cut:
Thanks to everyone who participated and helped spread the word. It’s a small thing and this year really just snuck up on me but I hope for something bigger next year. I did get an idea for another project but we’ll see if it pans out .
Anyway, here’s what I posted on the Prequel Appreciation Day Facebook:
Now that the big day is here (Happy 12th Birthday to TPM and 6th Birthday to ROTS), I thought I’d post here a few notes on why I decided to do all of this…I wanted to help validate the prequel era as part of the Star Wars experience. In the early ’90s I put out a fanzine to help other Star Wars fans come out of the closet and promote what I’d always believed, that even almost two decades later, Star Wars still mattered. You can imagine how I felt with the success of the Special Editions in 1997! Now, I’m continuing to repay the saga in kind for all it has done for me by pitching in where it needs help. I would love to see the prequels get their due in my lifetime. We’re just a small band of Rebels right now but with more support than we think. We just need to make our case.

Word is Clone Wars Season Three will be out (DVD/Blu-Ray) on October 25, which is about the same time Season Two came out last year. You can pre-order now and see the Anakin-centric cover art on Amazon.com.
Bob Clark sent this along…the now-departed Smallville had this promo obviously inspired by another poster:
